Who am I?

I am Ana Monteiro-Arnout and being all the way portuguese ( parents, grand parents, great grand parents...), I always felt a citizen of the world. Living in the Netherlands since 2020 and married to a Dutch citizen and mother of 2 Dutch children, I can feel all the way connected to this country.

Passionate for meeting and connecting people and in love with travelling, I had the intention to work by these standards. So, ELO is born.

 At ELO, I specialize in providing private tours in Marken and Volendam and Haarlem, making sure the connection is there. The personalized experiences cater to English and Portuguese speakers, ensuring a maximum of four guests per tour.

I developed a profound appreciation for the rich culture and traditions of these picturesque towns. As I guided visiting friends and family through the hidden gems and local stories that make this region unique, I realized there was a broader audience eager to experience the authentic essence of these Dutch locales. Observing that many tours offered a superficial glimpse into Dutch heritage, I saw an opportunity to provide more personalized and in-depth experiences. This inspired me to establish ELO ( it means connection in Portuguese), focusing on private tours that delve deeper into the history, culture, and everyday life of Marken and Volendam. Elo aims to introduce new tour experiences, incorporate sustainable practices, and engage more deeply with the local community.
